Overview
Hanson Properties Company ("we", "our", or "us") built the Hanson BuildCalc app as a free utility tool for construction professionals, engineers, site managers, and property developers.
We designed Hanson BuildCalc with a privacy-first philosophy from the ground up. The app functions entirely as a local, offline utility. It does not create accounts, does not connect to the internet, does not track usage, and does not collect any personal or non-personal information whatsoever.
Hanson BuildCalc will never collect your data, sell your information, display advertisements, or require any account or sign-up. What happens on your device stays on your device.
Data We Collect
We do not collect any data from users of Hanson BuildCalc. The table below provides a full breakdown of every data category relevant to a mobile app, and our position on each:

App Permissions
Hanson BuildCalc requests zero Android permissions. When you install the app, you will not be asked to grant access to any device features, sensors, or data sources.
The app is a self-contained toolkit of calculators, reference tables, checklists, and unit converters. Every feature works using only the inputs you type on screen and mathematical computations performed locally. No system resources are needed beyond the screen and processor.
If a future version of the app were to require any permissions — for example, to export a checklist as a PDF to your downloads folder — this policy will be updated in advance and any such permission will be clearly explained to you before being requested.
Offline Operation
Hanson BuildCalc is designed to work fully offline. All content — calculators, reference tables, unit conversion logic, and checklists — is bundled within the app itself at the time of installation.
- No internet connection is required to install, launch, or use any feature of the app.
- The app does not ping any server or check for updates in the background.
- No data is cached, synced, or backed up to any external server or cloud service.
- App updates are delivered exclusively through the Google Play Store and contain only code changes, not uploads from your device.
- The app functions identically whether your device is online, in airplane mode, or in an area with no network coverage — ideal for on-site use.
Third Parties & SDKs
Hanson BuildCalc does not integrate any third-party SDKs, libraries, or services that collect data. Specifically, there are no integrations with:
- Analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel)
- Advertising networks (e.g. Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network)
- Crash reporting tools (e.g. Crashlytics, Sentry)
- Social login or identity providers (e.g. Google Sign-In, Facebook SDK)
- Cloud storage or database services (e.g. Firebase, AWS Amplify)
- Push notification services (e.g. Firebase Cloud Messaging)
The only third-party relationship applicable to this app is the Google Play Store, through which the app is distributed. Google may collect information about your app download as part of their platform, governed by Google's own Privacy Policy.
Children's Privacy
Hanson BuildCalc is a professional utility app intended for adults working in the construction and real estate industries. It is not directed at children under the age of 13.
Because the app collects absolutely no data from any user, it does not collect data from children either. There are no accounts, no forms requiring personal information, and no communications features. We comply fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent regulations.
Your Rights
Because we collect no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. However, we recognise your rights under applicable data protection laws:
- Right to access: You have the right to know what data we hold about you. We hold none.
- Right to deletion: Uninstalling the app from your device removes all app data entirely.
- Right to portability: No data is stored on our end to export or transfer.
- Right to object: We perform no profiling, automated decision-making, or direct marketing.

Changes to This Policy
